SITE INFORMATION AFFILIATE DISCLOSURE
A useful link has a purpose.
Its incentives should be visible.
MedBillAtlas explains medical bills, patient billing questions, and medical debt in the United States. This disclosure describes how we approach affiliate links, referrals, sponsorships, and other commercial relationships if they appear in our content.
An external reference is not automatically a paid recommendation.
If an affiliate commission, referral payment, sponsorship, or other material relationship applies to specific content, we aim to explain it plainly where readers encounter that content. This policy does not imply that every external link—or any particular link—is part of a commercial arrangement.
Which connections warrant a disclosure?
A MedBillAtlas guide may point to government agencies, nonprofit resources, insurers, healthcare providers, or outside services because their information helps explain a question. Such a link is not, on its own, evidence of payment or endorsement.
Commercial arrangements can work differently. An affiliate link might result in a commission after a qualifying action; a referral arrangement might compensate a publisher for an inquiry or signup; a sponsored placement might be funded by an advertiser. If one of these relationships applies to content on MedBillAtlas, the relevant connection should be made clear to the reader. We do not ask readers to infer it from a link label alone.
Where our page ends and another begins
A guide links to a document, organization, product, or service relevant to the topic.
When compensation is involved, a disclosure should identify it in the context of that link or content.
You may visit the destination, review its terms, or choose not to proceed. A qualifying action may generate compensation if an arrangement exists.
Clicking an external link does not require you to apply for, purchase, or enroll in a service. Once you leave MedBillAtlas, any offer, pricing, account creation, or transaction is governed by the destination provider’s terms. We do not set those terms merely by linking to the provider.
A source is not a sales pitch
Our guides examine questions such as whether a charge matches the records, why an insurance claim was denied, which assistance rules may apply, and what a debt notice actually requires. Those explanations need supporting documents and applicable rules—not a commercial incentive.
A potential payment from an outside organization does not establish that its service is appropriate for a reader or that its interpretation is correct. We aim to distinguish documented facts from options that require individual review. For sourcing and correction practices, see our Editorial Policy.
Charges, assistance, and service costs still need checking
The amount a patient may owe, the availability of financial assistance, insurance appeal rights, payment-plan terms, and the status of a medical debt can depend on records, contracts, program rules, location, and timing. Outside services may also charge fees or impose conditions that differ from what a general article describes.
Before relying on an offer or taking action, check current information directly with the responsible provider, insurer, assistance program, agency, or other relevant organization. Where appropriate, seek qualified professional guidance for your own circumstances.
An external link is not a determination that a bill is valid, a debt can be removed, financial assistance will be approved, or a third-party service can secure a particular result.
Paid placements should say so
Advertising, sponsored articles, paid placements, and similar arrangements may be used on the site. If a particular item is funded by or materially connected to another party, we intend to identify that connection in a way readers can recognize before treating the content as independent information. The presence of this section does not mean any specific sponsorship or advertising arrangement is currently active.
MedBillAtlas may display advertisements through Google AdSense. If these ads appear, the site may earn advertising revenue. Google AdSense ads are separate from our editorial content.
Other sites have their own rules
A destination website may collect information, use cookies or referral-measurement technology, and apply its own privacy policy. MedBillAtlas does not control the content, data practices, eligibility decisions, or transaction terms of independent websites. Read those policies before submitting personal, insurance, or financial information. Our own website practices are addressed in the Privacy Policy.
Is a relationship unclear?
If a link appears commercial without an explanation, or a disclosure needs correction, tell us which page and link you mean so we can review it.
